Bandh called to protest Hyd blast

New Delhi: The All India Majlis Iteehadi-e-Muslimeen (AIMIM) has called for a bandh on Saturday to protest against the bomb blast at the Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad.

The party leaders said the state government is responsible for the incident and added that state leaders should swing into action, and nab all those responsible for the blasts.

AIMIM has also alleged that the blast was the handiwork of people who do not want any unity between Hindus and Muslims in India.

Nine people were killed and 15 others were injured when a blast shook the crowded mosque in Hyderabad near the historic Char Minar on Friday afternoon.

The death toll in the blast at the Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad and the incidents that followed has gone up to 11, police sources said on Friday evening.

Two people were killed when police fired to control a mob which was trying to burn a petrol pump in a congested locality. As many as 45 injured people are being treated at various hospitals.
